### Job Title: Windows System Administrator **Location:** [Insert Location/Remote] **Department:** IT Infrastructure **Reports To:** IT Manager / Infrastructure Lead --- ### **Job Summary** We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Windows System Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our Windows Server environment. You will serve as a key point of contact for system performance, security patching, identity management, and cloud integration. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and server virtualization, and is committed to maintaining high availability and robust security standards for our enterprise systems. --- ### **Key Responsibilities** * **Server Management:** Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems (2016/2019/2022) across physical and virtual environments. * **Identity & Access Management:** Manage and secure Active Directory (AD) domains, including Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, DHCP, and Azure AD (Entra ID) synchronization. * **System Maintenance:** Perform regular system monitoring, proactive maintenance, and rigorous patch management to ensure optimal performance and security compliance. * **Cloud Operations:** Support the administration of hybrid infrastructure, including Azure/AWS cloud-based server instances and migration projects. * **Backup & Recovery:** Execute and monitor routine server backups and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity. * **Scripting & Automation:** Utilize PowerShell to automate repetitive administrative tasks, reporting, and system deployments. * **Security & Compliance:** Implement and manage security protocols, including anti-virus/endpoint protection, firewall configurations, and vulnerability remediation. * **Technical Support:** Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for escalated hardware and software issues, troubleshooting performance bottlenecks and system failures. * **Documentation:** Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system topologies, configuration standards, and incident response procedures. --- ### **Required Qualifications** * **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). * **Experience:** 3–5+ years of experience in a Windows System Administrator role within an enterprise environment. * **Core Technical Skills:** * Expert-level proficiency with Windows Server (2016–2022). * Strong command of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Management. * Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or Nutanix). * Proficiency in scripting with **PowerShell** for automation and system management. * **Networking Knowledge:** Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VPNs, VLANs, and firewall concepts. * **Cloud Competency:** Familiarity with Azure/Office 365 administration and hybrid cloud environments. * **Soft Skills:** * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. * Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. --- ### **Preferred Qualifications** * **Certifications:** Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), or equivalent certifications. * **Experience with Monitoring Tools:** Experience with tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Datadog, or Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM). * **Hardware Knowledge:** Familiarity with enterprise server hardware (e.g., Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant) and SAN/NAS storage solutions. * **Security Focus:** Experience with hardening servers according to CIS Benchmarks or STIGs.
